Why is My Logitech G920 Shaking?

One issue that has been observed with the Logitech G920 steering wheel is that it may start shaking while in use, making the game difficult or even impossible to play. This appears to be more common with certain games, such as CarxDrift and Assetto Corsa. In some cases, the shaking may cause the steering wheel to stop working entirely.

So, in this article, I will be sharing my thoughts on why the Logitech G920 steering wheel is shaking in some games and how you could fix it.

Why Does My Logitech G920 Racing Wheel shake?

Your Logitech G920 may be shaking because the default settings are too strong, resulting in clipping. So you should try to reduce your strength to 100 or less. Shaking may also occur as a result of a high minimum force setting. You should think about lowering that setting to 5 or lower.

How do I Stop My Logitech G920 from Shaking?

You must navigate to control schemes > advanced wheel settings > force feedback settings. The actual FFB setting provides the most feedback from your wheel. To get rid of the shaking. You’ll have to shift this down so low that you won’t be able to feel your wheel on the track.

You obviously do not want to do that. A good starting point is as follows:

  • Force Feedback: 85
  • Rumble strip Effects: 1
  •  On-Track Effects: 0
  • Wheel Weight: 100
  • Wheel Rotation: 360
  •  Understeer: On.

Try it out. Although 1 & 0 for track effects may appear to be insufficient, I can assure you that they are still 10x more powerful than just a controller. As previously stated, the configurations have no serious relationship to the real feel of the wheel. So, ignore the figures until you’ve tried it for yourself.

The first thing you should do is exit the race you’re in and then go into your general in-game settings. Then go to the experimental options and activate the gyroscopic effects. After that, you should reduce all of the settings below gyroscopic effects to 0%.

Then finally, you would want to turn down your general effects settings to 0 or 15%. Then after that, you can restart the game and play Assetto Corsa.

What is a Hard wheel Mount Contact Area?

If you use a metal mounting surface, as I do with my Open Wheeler, you will come into contact with: open-wheeler gaming chair Metal.

The rock-hard plastic mounts on the G29. The vibrations MUST travel somewhere.

Because neither of the aforementioned surfaces has any “give,” they pass through the wheel. So, on occasion, you’ve probably felt it “snap” out of your hands. Logitech and racing chair manufacturers Should include a softer contact fix for the mounting region on both the wheel and the racing chair. I don’t own a racing chair or gaming wheel company, so I’m not sure why they haven’t already done this.

How Do I Fix a Hard Wheel Mount Contact Area Problem?

I’ve never seen this fix before on the internet.

So, you’ll need any type of non-slip material with some “give” to it. A thin rubber is designed for the job, so use some kind of a used bicycle inner tube (if you don’t have a tube, you can buy tiny bits of thin rubber online). Anything really thick will prevent the wheel from properly mounting. A thickness of 3mm or less is ideal.

Make a large enough section to cover the mounting surface. Install the wheel directly onto the rubber. As a result, you now have material for both hard surfaces, which will absorb a few of the vibrations. This means you can increase the extent of on-track effects and FFB wheel settings to get a better sense of your wheel.

How Do I reset My Logitech G920 Racing Wheel?

  • Step 1. Press the Xbox button on the wheel to open the guide
  • Step 2. Go to the right and select settings, then enter system settings and then select console info.
  • Step 3. Select Reset Console.

This should reset your system and console at the same time, and then your Logitech G920 should re-calibrate itself. However, if this does not work, then you can perform a hard reset on your racing wheel by disconnecting it from your Xbox and if that doesn’t work, then keep it plugged into the Xbox and pull the plug on your Xbox series X/S. That should reset your Logitech G920 racing wheel.

Why is My Logitech Steering Wheel Moving on its own_

Why is My Logitech Steering Wheel Moving on its own?

The Logitech steering wheel is moving on its own because of the force feedback that is supposed to add to the realism. If this does not work, you can perform a hard reset on your racing wheel by disconnecting it from your Xbox. If that does not work, keep it plugged into the Xbox and unplug your Xbox series X/S. That should clear the data on your Logitech G920 racing wheel.

How do I download Logitech Drivers?

The easiest way to download Logitech drivers is by manually downloading them from the Manufacture’s website. All you have to do is go to Logitech’s home page and click on support. Then you should select downloads, and you should see the associated drivers for your device.

Top 3 Racing Wheels On The Market

I know it is hard to find a good racing wheel to play your sim racing games, especially when there are a lot of good and bad ones out and about in the world. The racing wheel market is something that is pushing the racing world to the max. So, here are some of the best racing wheels out now.

The Thrustmaster T300 RS

1.  The Thrustmaster T300 RS

Thrustmaster’s T300 RS (PS5) and TX (Xbox) enthusiast racing wheels are among the best available. The improved force feedback system is what distinguishes the Thrustmaster T300 RS as one of the best racing wheels. It is not geared but rather runs on a sequence of belts fueled by brushless motors.

This provides the ideal balance of power and smoothness, providing a sense of realism and immersion that is hard to beat at this price of $ on Amazon.

The belt system does generate a lot of heat after a while, requiring the use of a cooling system that starts after about 10 minutes of play. However, it is less distracting and smoother than the Logitech G29 in use. There are a few drawbacks to these otherwise fantastic wheelsets, and they all revolve around the parts outside of the wheelbase. The steering wheel is sturdy and grippy, but it is made of rubber rather than leather.

The premium build quality, materials and features of the device come at the cost of $580 on Amazon and Walmart.

Pros

  • Wonderful Force Feedback
  • Impressive Wheel.

Cons

  • Disappointed to see a rubber wheel
  • Good Pedals are Costly.
The Logitech G923

2.  The Logitech G923

The Logitech G923 looks almost like the G920. Both devices share a similar design language and even similar features, from their leather stitching to the metal pedals and the very tight steering and even logical button layout.

Their Setup is also very similar by-way-of power adapter and USB cable, while button placements and macros are customisable through Logitech’s GHub application to a certain degree. Most of the fundamentals remain the same as the previous Logitech G920.

However, the G923 makes some major improvements mainly because the G923 adds Trueforce, a haptics-based system that transmits the realistic experience of the road through your fingers and palms. The feedback is no longer mostly about struggling against the wheel as you take a corner 5mph too quickly. You’ll feel the tarmac tickling your digits. I found it on Amazon for $450, and I can say with a full heart that it is worth it

Pros

  • Impressive Trueforce Tech Feedback
  • Leather Wheel is Made of Quality Materials
  • Made for Next-gen Consoles and is Backwards Compatible
  • New Brakes.

Cons

  • It is not Cross Platform
  • Helical Gearing is Old-school.
The Logitech G29

3.  The Logitech G29

The Logitech G29 (PS4) and G920 (Xbox One) are also excellent, but they are very similar to the older wheels. That has both positive and negative aspects.

First and foremost, the G29 is less expensive than the direct Thrustmaster alternatives, the T300 series wheels. The wheel’s quality is also excellent. The parts of your hand’s grip have a metal core and leather stitching.

Leather wheels are much more expensive at Fanatec and Thrustmaster. The Logitech G29 includes high-end extras at no extra charge. Its pedal board is far superior to anything else at this price, with a clutch and very solid metal plates. This is what you would call a budget-gamers dream. It is solid, dependable and most importantly, affordable, and it only costs $300 on Amazon, which seems like a barging to me.

Pros

  • Impressive Pedals
  • Leather-Coated Wheel.

Cons

  • A Bit Outdated
  • Not a Very Smooth Force Feedback Experience.

Conclusion

Overall, the Logitech G920 is a very old-school steering wheel, but it is still very reliable, and so are some of the ones we have listed. I hope I helped solve the issue with your steering wheel. Hopefully, you found this article helpful. Please let us know how it turned out for you in the comments section below.
