Game Story And Characters

According to Folklore, there were three ancient Goddesses who made a wishing power known as Triforce. In a bid to take the Triforce power for himself, the demon King, Demise, waged war against the land.

A Goddess named Hylia rescues the remaining survivors and brings them to the sky before launching a full attack on Demise; she wins the battle, but with the land destroyed and nothing left to salvage. For years the sky became their new home, and it’s called Skyloft, and the people believe the surface beneath the cloud is nothing but a myth.

Link passes his final exams of knight training despite the meddling from his rival, Groose, who believe they are romantic-competitor in the affection of Zelda, Link’s childhood friend.

In the course of their celebratory flight together, they were attacked by a dark tornado which led to Zelda being kidnapped and taken beneath the cloud.

Link, recovering from the attack, found his way into the Statue of Hylia to the Goddess Sword, having been led there by Fi, the sword spirit.

Link pulls out the sword from its resting place and presents himself as the prophesied hero to conquer the Demon King, Demise.

A path is open from the clouds to the surface beneath for Link to get to the sealed temple through the guidance of FI, and he meets with an Old woman who instructs him to find Zelda.

This journey led him through the regions of Faron Woods, Eldin Volcano and the Lanayru Desert.

The link was able to track Zelda but was prevented from taking her back to Skyloft by Impa, a young woman protecting Zelda.

On this quest, Link came across a self-proclaimed Demon Lord, Ghirahim, who plans to free the Demon King.

And at the Time Temple in Lanayru Desert, Link had to defend Zelda and Impa from Ghirahim, giving both of them enough opportunity to escape through the time gate while Impa destroys it as soon as they pass through.

However, on getting back to the Sealed Temple, Link is confronted by Groose, who had followed him to the surface.

Where Link had to battle to defeat a monstrous form of Demise, the Imprisoned, who is trying to get to the Sealed Temple and a second inactive time gate was shown to Link by the old woman.

After defeating the imprisoned, Link embarks on the task of strengthening the Goddess Sword with the Sacred Flames so as to awaken the time gate.

However, he has to pass the trials set before him by the ancient Goddess to be able to use their gifts to find the Sacred Flames.

Returning back to the temple, Link discovered the imprisoned trying to break free, but with the help of Groose, he was able to seal it.

He activates the Time Gate and travels to the past to search for Zelda but discovers that she is a mortal reincarnation of Hylia.

Fledge and Link - The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword Nintendo Switch Game

Hylia, weakened from the clash with Demise and not having the strength to kill him, created the Goddess sword and reincarnated as a mortal to find someone worthy enough to fulfil the task of Demise destruction using the Triforce, as only human has the ability to use the relic.

After the revelation, Zelda seals herself inside a crystal to help strengthen Demise seal and surrenders her power to upgrade the Goddess Sword into Master Sword.

The Triforce is found on the Skyloft and its power is used to destroy Demise and Zelda was freed but then kidnapped by Ghirahim, who planned to use her as a sacrifice to resurrect Demise in the past since they only killed him in the present.

Link follows Ghirahim to the past, fighting through his defence force to defeat him, and he was discovered to be the spirit of Demise sword.

However, Link was unable to stop Zelda from being used to reincarnate Demise humanoid form. While Groose guards Zelda’s body, Link challenges Demise in combat, defeating him and absorbing his essence into the sword not before cursing Link and Zelda descendants for being haunted by his reincarnated rage.

To seal the sword, Link drives it into a pedestal in the Sealed Temple, with Fi accepting to go on eternal rest as a result.

Link, Zelda and Groose return back to the present, leaving Impa behind to destroy the time Gate as she of the time and is assigned to watch over Master Sword.

Back to the present, the old woman welcomes them back and vanishes after revealing herself to be Impa.

The game ends with the surface becoming accessible to the people of Skyloft and Zelda deciding to remain on the surface to watch over the Triforce and, together with Link establish the kingdom of Hyrule.
